FAQ’s about the basics of CBD

What is CBD oil?

CBD stands for Cannabidiol. It is the most dominant of 80 different cannabinoids in the hemp plant. Plant-derived CBD is referred to as a phytocannabinoid and possesses similar properties as animal produced endocannabinoids. It has shown significant human health benefits in numerous clinical trails.

What is CBD oil made from?

Both marijuana and hemp come from the plant species Cannabis sativa. Our CBD oil is derived from industrial hemp.

Can I get “high” from using CBD?

Because CBD contains less than 0.3% THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol is the principal psychoactive component of cannabis), it does not have psychoactive effects on humans. While you may feel calm and relaxed, it will not get you “high.” (Any cannabis plant containing more that 0.3% THC is considered marijuana.)

What does CBD oil do?

Once CBD was isolated in the 1940s, it was discovered that there are specific cannabinoid receptors on both animal and human cells. This system of receptors is called the endocannabinoid system. In the 1990s, two major receptors were identified: CB1 and CB2. CBD interacts to a greater degree on the CB2 receptors that are located on immune cells. This interaction signals molecular pathways of the immune system exerting direct anti-oxidant effects.

What are the positive effects of taking CBD oil?

CBD has been studied and found in both in vivo and in vitro studies to exert anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-nausea, anti-emetic, anti-psychotic, anti-ischemic, anxiolytic and anti-epileptic, nuero-protective, and anti-cancer actions that may offer significant human health benefits.

What is CBD oil used for?

Most people use CBD on a daily basis or as needed to help manage chronic issues of anxiety, stress, and pain.

How much CBD do you take?
Everyone has to discover the amount of CBD mgs that is effective for their particular health situation. It has been advised by many experts to start with low doses of 2.5 mg, two to three times daily for the first few days, and slowly increase that dose over the next three weeks. By that time, a personalized dose will become evident. Some people find that the lowest dose is effective for their pain management. More is not always better when it comes to CBD. However, studies have shown that chronic use and doses up to 1,500 mg are reportedly well tolerated in humans.
